— Police on Saturday requested the public's assistance in identifying two men who robbed an employee of a Raleigh recycling plant at gunpoint.

The worker was opening Raleigh Metal Recycling, at 2310 Garner Road, at about 5 a.m. Friday when two masked men forced him at gunpoint into the office in an attempt to rob the business, police said. They were unable to get any money from the business, so they robbed the man of his wallet and cellphone.

The robbers were last seen fleeing the area on foot.

They both wore light-colored jackets with horizontal yellow stripes on the front and back and vertical yellow stripes on the sleeves, and each has long, braided hair or wore a wig with long braids, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357.
