RALEIGH, N.C. — Two men wanted in a 2002 Raleigh shooting death have been arrested in Georgia, police said Friday.

Officers responding a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Crest Road on Feb. 24, 2002, found the body of Martin Herrera Sotelo, 27, in a nearby trash bin.

Police issued arrest warrants for Noel Monterrubio Garcia, Orlando Monterrubio Garcia and Tomas Serrano Garcia in connection with Sotelo's death, but investigators determined all three had fled the area.

Orlando Garcia, now 37, returned to Raleigh in 2003 and was arrested then, police said.

Investigators learned three weeks ago that Tomas Garcia had been arrested in Forsyth County, Ga., and they worked with authorities in that area to locate and arrest Noel Garcia.

Noel Garcia, 42, was extradited to Raleigh on Friday and was being held without bond in the Wake County jail. Tomas Garcia, 41, remains in custody in Georgia pending extradition.

Police said Noel Garcia and Orlando Garcia are brothers and that Tomas Garcia is their cousin.
