Overnight gunfire in Raleigh leaves one man dead

Raleigh, N.C. — Gunfire overnight on the 2100 block of Nelson Street left one man dead and a home damaged.
Raleigh police said they responded shortly after 1 a.m. and found that Jameel Leon Barnes, 26, had been shot. Barnes was taken to WakeMed, where he died.
Police said they are unsure where the shots came from, but that they've begun a follow-up investigation.
