This year’s list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants was revealed in Bilbao, Spain, on Tuesday, and the No. 1 spot went to chef Massimo Bottura’s Osteria Francescana, in Modena, Italy.

Last year, the top honor was awarded to Eleven Madison Park in New York, owned by chef Daniel Humm and his business partner Will Guidara. The restaurant received the fourth place spot this year.

“Regardless of where we stand on the list, we feel incredibly honored and humbled to be part of this community of chefs,” Humm and Guidara said in a statement.

El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain, which was in the top spot several years ago, retained its second-place ranking from last year. Mirazur, in Menton, France, came in third.

Osteria Francescana last held the No. 1 spot in 2016.

In addition to Osteria Francescana, Bottura owns other restaurants and runs the Refettorio chain that uses recycled food to feed the needy in a gracious setting.
