RALEIGH, N.C.Second Chance Pet Adoptions planned to celebrate its move to a new adoption center with an open house Saturday.

Low-cost microchips, dog washing and nail trimming will be featured at the event in the Tanger Center, 6003 Chapel Hill Road, Suite 133 in Raleigh. Doors will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Organizers hope the event will help get some cats and dogs new homes and highlight the need for responsible pet ownership.

Trainers will challenge dog owners: They can teach your dog to walk properly on a leash within five minutes, or they'll match your donation to Second Chance.

Stormy from the Carolina Hurricanes will show up at noon, and children's games and food will also be served up.

Second Chance is a nonprofit pet adoption agency that has operated in the Triangle since 1987.
