A 35-year-old Garner man was critically injured Wednesday evening in a shooting at an apartment building across the street from the police department, authorities said. 

<b>GARNER, N.C.</b> — A 35-year-old Garner man was critically injured Wednesday evening in a shooting at an apartment building across the street from the police department, authorities said. 

Kyevon Diates Frazzell Gayles was listed in critical condition Thursday afternoon at WakeMed. 

According to investigators, he was shot shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Seventh Avenue. 

Police are searching for a four-door white Nissan Altima or Maxima that was seen leaving the area after the shooting. 

They are also searching a for a man who was described as 6 feet tall with an average build and goatee. He was seen leaving the area with a white hat with a black brim, a white T-shirt and black shorts.
