One person killed in two-vehicle crash in Durham

Durham police said one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that happened Saturday morning.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police said one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that happened Saturday morning.

Police said the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. on US Hwy. 15-501 North, not far from West Cornwallis Road. Investigators said a 2018 Chevolet Cruze was traveling north on US Hwy. 15-501 when it was sideswiped on the left side by a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The Sentra drove off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and tree.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra, Bruce Lewis, 34, of Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured as a result of the collision.

The crash is still under investigation and Durham police said no charges have been filed at this time.
