One person killed in single-vehicle crash in Sanford
Troopers with the NC State Highway Patrol were investigating after a crash Wednesday night left at least one person dead in Harnett County.

SANFORD, N.C. — Troopers with the NC State Highway Patrol were investigating after a crash Wednesday night left at least one person dead in Harnett County.
Officials responded to 20 Country Walk Lane in Sanford. One person was dead and the vehicle they were in was in a ditch. Troopers said the vehicle was speeding, the driver over-corrected and crashed into a tree before the vehicle ended up in the ditch.
The name of the person who died has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
The area was closed off to traffic as cleanup and an investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
