One person killed in Johnston County crash
One person was killed in a crash that happened Thursday in the Princeton area of Johnston County.
Posted — UpdatedThe crash happened at 150 Old Denning Road. A trooper with the N.C. State Highway Patrol said a driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a light pole.
Thursday night, it was confirmed that Tammy Worley, 54, of Princeton, died in the crash. She was a well-known Smithfield bail bond agent. Officials told WRAL's John Payne that Worley over-corrected her vehicle then struck a power pole off the left side of the road.
Power was out in the area as Duke Energy replaced the pole and transformer damaged in the crash.
The accident was still under investigation Thursday night.
