One person killed in ATV accident in Wake County
One person was killed in an ATV crash that happened Friday just southeast of Fuquay-Varina.
Posted — UpdatedFUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — One man was killed Friday night when his ATV flipped over Friday just southeast of Fuquay-Varina.
Troopers with the NC State Highway Patrol said Charles Williams, 43, of Lillington, was driving too fast when he attempted a turn on a dirt path. His vehicle rolled several times, according to witnesses. It was not immediately clear if Williams died from being crushed under the vehicle or if he was thrown, but he was dead when emergency personnel arrived.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on private property. Troopers said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
