WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A Raleigh man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision on N.C. Highway 96 near Old Pearce Road in Wake Forest, authorities said.

A Mustang driven by Mario Camacho Gonsalez, 43, of 3001 Watkins Town Road, crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Suburban at about 3 p.m., authorities said.

Judy Lynam, 40, and her two children in the Suburban were taken to WakeMed with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, authorities said. They were listed in good condition on Wednesday.

The State Highway Patrol hasn't determined the cause of the crash, saying a wet roadway might have been a factor.

N.C. 96 reopened shortly before 5:30 p.m.
