Deputies were called to the 1100 block of Elm Street in Weldon around 10 p.m. for a report of multiple shots fired. 



<b>WELDON, N.C.</b> — One person was killed in a shooting in Halifax County on Friday night.

Deputies were called to the 1100 block of Elm Street in Weldon around 10 p.m. for a report of multiple shots fired.

When they arrived, they learned Anthony Harris, 37, was taken to Vidant North Hospital in a private car.  Harris was later pronounced deceased.

The shooting remains under investigation.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Halifax County Sheriff's Office or Halifax County Crime Stoppers.
