One killed in early morning shooting in Durham

Police responded to an emergency call to find Dennis Lamb, 23, lying in the street with a gunshot wound.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a homicide that happened early Tuesday on Wabash Street near Truman Street.

Officers responded to a shooting call at 4:23 a.m. When they arrived, they found Dennis Lamb, 23, of Durham, lying in the street. He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives said they do not believe the shooting was random, based on their preliminary investigation.
