One killed, another injured in Christmas Eve shooting in Robeson County

Deputies were called to the 2500 block of Lombard Village Road in Lumber Road for a report of two people shots and shots being fired into homes just after 6 p.m.

LUMBER BRIDGE, N.C. — A shooting on Christmas Eve in Robeson County left one person dead and another injured.

Deputies were called to the 2500 block of Lombard Village Road in Lumber Road for a report of two people shot and shots being fired into homes just after 6 p.m.

When they arrived, they found Joshua Locklear, 32, dead at the scene. John McMillian, 29, was taken to UNC Southeastern Medical Center for treatment. He was later taken to an undisclosed medical center and is expected to recover from his injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.
