Man shot inside his Fayetteville home

A 40-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot inside a home Monday afternoon, Fayetteville police said Tuesday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 40-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot inside his home Monday afternoon, Fayetteville police said Tuesday.

Andre Tramaine Womack was shot at 224 Irene St. by an unknown person at approximately 4:40 p.m. Womack was able to contact a neighbor, who called 911.

Womack underwent surgery at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center before being transferred to UNC Hospitals, where he was last listed in serious condition.
