One hospitalized from fire at Fayetteville senior living center; $15K worth of damage done

One person was taken to the hospital from a fire at a senior living center in Fayetteville on Saturday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One person was taken to the hospital from a fire at a senior living center in Fayetteville on Saturday.

The fire occurred at The Carolina Highlands community on Fordham Drive. The fire was confirmed to be contained within one room, according to officials.

Officials said one burn victim was helped out of the home and taken to a hospital. There is no word on the person's condition at the moment. Others at the home were evacuated.

Fayetteville fire department estimates the fire caused around $15,000 worth of damage. Crews were able to put the fire out quickly.
