One dead, one wounded in Raleigh shopping center shooting

One person was killed and a second one was wounded Wednesday afternoon in a shooting at an east Raleigh shopping center.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One person was killed and a second one was wounded Wednesday afternoon in a shooting at an east Raleigh shopping center.

The shooting occurred shortly before 3 p.m. at a shopping center at the intersection of Poole Road and Russ Street.

Ondrick Lymell Cromartie, 24, died at the scene, and Timothy Aaron Jordan, 18, suffered a non-life-threatening wound, police said.

Raleigh police said a gunman walked up to the two victims, shot them and ran off. They said they don't believe the public is in danger.

No details about the motive for the shooting were immediately available.
