FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Troopers said alcohol and speeding might be to blame for a crash that killed a Fayetteville woman Sunday morning.

Tamara Chambers, 29, died after being thrown from a Ford Explorer on Interstate 295 in Cumberland County.

The other person in the vehicle, 25-year-old Maurice Rivera, survived. He was in critical condition.

Neither person was wearing a seat belt, troopers said. Authorities said they weren’t sure who was driving.
