One dead in Hoke County wreck
A Fort Bragg spokeswoman said that one person died in a single-vehicle wreck at Plank and Wayside roads, in Hoke County, near the military base, around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Posted — UpdatedFORT BRAGG, N.C. — One person died in a single-vehicle wreck at Plank and Wayside roads, near Fort Bragg in Hoke County, around 3 a.m. Tuesday, a military spokeswoman said.
Investigators said they believe that the driver was speeding and lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the road.
A passenger died at the scene, while the driver was treated and released at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fort Bragg spokeswoman Sheri Crowe said.
The identities of the victims have not been released. The wreck remains under investigation.
