ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — Investigators with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office arrested one suspect and are searching for two others in connection with a stolen bank card.

Detective R. Rocks said that Geraldine Elizabeth Grey, of Roanoke Rapids, gave the stolen card to Africia Frazier, 25, also of Roanoke Rapids, on Wednesday.

Rooks said that Frazier tried to use the card at a convenience store but couldn't get it to work. She and Christopher Bennett, of Garysburg, then went to a different convenience store and used the card to buy gas and cigarettes, the detective said.

Frazier was arrested and charged felony attempted obtaining property by false pretenses and felony conspiracy. She was being held under a $2,500 bond and scheduled to first appear in court Dec. 9.

Arrest warrants were issued against Gray for one count of felony financial card theft and against Bennett for two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and felony conspiracy.

Bennett and Gray remain at large.
