NASHVILLE, N.C. — The Nash County Sheriff's Office announced Friday the arrest of one of two suspects in a shooting and home invasion that happened on Nov. 14 in Nashville.

Antwan Ray Hawkins, 35, of Charlotte, has been arrested and charged with first degree murder, first degree kidnapping, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony breaking and entering.

Police said Montreal Tyrek Cooper, 20, of Rocky Mount, is wanted on similar charges. Cooper is 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on the top of both hands.

Nashville police said they were called about the home invasion around 5:44 a.m. at Oak Tree Apartments in Nashville. They found Marquis Perry, 27, dead of a gunshot wound.

Investigators were interviewing the victim’s girlfriend, who was found in the home with her hands bound, police said. Officials said a 12-year-old child was also present at the time of the incident. Police said neither were harmed.

Nashville police said they received information on Dec. 9 that Hawkins and Cooper were responsible for Perry's murder. Hawkins was later taken into federal custody.

If you have any information on Cooper or know where he is, call Nashville Police at (252) 459-4545 or Sgt. Shockley at (252) 903-8166.
