CHANDLER, OKLA. — Authorities in Oklahoma said a 15-year-old girl and her 18-year-old boyfriend are in custody after allegedly plotting to kill her parents so they could be together.

Investigators said 18-year-old Zachary Sligar and the 15-year-old girl plotted to kill her family after her mother refused to allow her to become emancipated earlier in the night.

Authorities said Sligar showed up at the girl’s house with a gun Thursday night while the family was asleep. The girl was also armed with a gun.

Authorities said the couple planned to kill the girl’s mother and father as well as an older sister that lived in a different building on the property.

“Zach goes into the bedroom, fires one time at dad and misses, shoots a hole in his pillow,” Lincoln County Sheriff Charlie Dougherty said. “Immediately, turns the gun on mom, shooter her one time in the face.”

Both parents survived the shooting, authorities said.

The 15-year-old allegedly told Sligar to go home following the shooting so that she could come up with a story to explain the incident.

Both teens were arrested.
