GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Police say the case of the missing 3-year-old girl that led to an Amber Alert "has ended with a positive result."

Greensboro Police Chief Wayne Scott said in a press conference Thursday night that Ahlora Lindiment was found safe around 8 p.m. Thursday near Word Faith Christian Center in Greensboro.

Scott said a woman noticed a girl walking alone in the street. She approached her, determined she was by herself and then she thought she looked like Lindiment.

The woman called 911, police arrived and the girl was reunited with her family. Scott says the girl was in good condition and happy to see her family again.

Investigators will do a forensic interview later with the 3-year-old to determine what happened. Scott said this case should put parents on alert to practice safety strategies to keep your kids safe.

Police are still searching for the woman who they said took the girl. They believe the woman has ties to the area and possibly may have family members there. They have not named the suspect, but Scott said he believes the woman wanted to walk away with someone’s child.

An Amber Alert was issued for Lindiment on Wednesday night after she was taken by an unknown woman from a playground at 2411 Phillips Ave. in Greensboro.

Police identified the woman who took the child as a black woman in her 20s who is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs around 135 pounds. She had a short ponytail and was wearing a black short-sleeve crop top, tiger-print pants with a yellow stripe and dark flip flops.

A surveillance photo released Thursday shows a woman who police said during a Thursday afternoon news conference is considered a suspect. Police said the woman has no known connection with the girl's family. Two new photos of the woman were also released Thursday evening.
