An investigation was underway after an attempted home invasion in Garner Sunday.

GARNER, N.C. — An investigation was underway after an attempted home invasion in Garner Sunday.

At about 10 a.m., authorities said they responded to a break-in call on Creech Road and found a man unconscious in the house.

Wake County officials said they think he might have cut himself during the break-in. The man’s name has not been released, but he was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery.

Police were waiting to interview him, but they said he is not considered a suspect in the case at this point.

South Garner High School announced on Wednesday that Greg Greene will be the third head football coach in school history. Most recently, Greene was the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Riverside High School in Durham. The Titans opened their doors in 2018. Daniel Finn was the head coach from the opening year until the end of the 2021 season.
