A year after being ranked as one of the best cities to see holiday lights by USA Today, “Christmas Town USA” is preparing to welcome back regulars to its annual lights display.

Located just west of Charlotte, the town of McAdenville transforms every holiday season, dating back to 1956.

For the 2020 season, Christmas Town USA is making several changes meant to accommodate social distancing. Red, White and Green lights will still light up the community, but there will not be a traditional tree lighting ceremony or parade.

Spokesperson Christy Gliddon spoke with WRAL about the safest way you can take in the lights this season.

The lights officially flip on December 1 and visitors are invited between 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. It runs through December 26.
