Hello everyone. I'm meteorologist Peter Sherwood in the W R L Severe Weather center. Today is a weather alert day showers and thunderstorms will move through late morning into the early afternoon. Some could be strong to severe with damaging wind speeds. And outside of those severe thunderstorms, winds are going to be gusty upwards of 45 MPH at times. So you'll need to be weather aware today. Keep that w severe weather app with you throughout the entire day, especially if you're heading out to the festival. We have a level one risk for severe storms in place, damaging wind speeds will be possible and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The greatest threat for tornadoes will be near the coast as we head into the afternoon. I want to show you the system that is going to bring the rain and storms. It is now moving across the Tennessee and the North Carolina Mountains. Some of the storms associated with it are severe. This morning, we saw numerous tornado warnings go off across the Midwest on Friday and this system will continue to weaken as it moves across North Carolina. So showers and thunderstorms possible around nine o'clock to the north and west that is going to enter into the triangle as we head into the 11 and 12 o'clock hour. Some of those storms could really pack a punch. That's why dream is going to start at two PM. Today, we expect those showers and thunderstorms to really clear out of the triangle by two o'clock and likely to see gradual clearing across our entire viewing area as we head into the four and five o'clock hour. The rest of the evening will be dry with some strong winds around. As we take a look this morning, there's a lot of cloud to start. Temperatures are also mild. We will make it to 81 degrees today. If you're heading out to an Easter egg hunt, you will need to be weather aware. Again, those wind speeds gusting upwards of 45 MPH, but some of those storms moving through, keep the severe weather app with you. Tomorrow is going to be so nice. We're heading to 67 degrees for the afternoon. I think if you don't get outside today, make it a mission to get outside tomorrow with a ton of sunshine, lower humidity. It's going to feel fantastic out there and we will get our temperatures to gradually warm up again into the mid-80s as we head into the middle of the week. Our next best chance for thunderstorms will move in again on Thursday.
