No charges to be filed after vehicle hits pedestrian in the street

A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.

The NC State Highway Patrol said a person was hit around 10:48 p.m. on South Smithfield Road and Sandy Run Road in the Knightdale area. Troopers said the person was transported to WakeMed Hospital.

The driver did stay on the scene, and officials said there would be no charges since the pedestrian was in the street when they were struck.
