(AP) — Rescuers raced Saturday to search for survivors and help hundreds of people left homeless after a powerful tornado cut a devastating path through Mississippi, killing at least 25 people, injuring dozens, and flattening entire blocks as it carved a path of destruction for more than an hour. One person was killed in Alabama.

A woman from New Jersey died Tuesday after being hit by a car on Fayetteville's Cedar Creek Road.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — A woman from New Jersey died Tuesday after being hit by a car on Fayetteville's Cedar Creek Road.

Police said Hensa Pfeiffer, 70, of Morrisville, NJ, walked into the path of a 2004 Toyota just before 7:30 p.m.

The driver is not facing any charges after the collision.
