FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A fire that started in the bathroom of a home on Pavilion Drive displaced nine people Monday evening, the Fayetteville Fire Department said.

Crews responding to the single-story home about 5:40 p.m. quickly brought the fire under control, but not before it did an estimated $10,000 in damage to the home.

No injuries were reported, authorities said, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
