Nine displaced by Durham fire
Firefighters are investigating a fire that displaced nine people from their home on North Driver Street Sunday afternoon.
Posted — UpdatedDURHAM, N.C. — Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire at a Durham home Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to 207 N. Driver Street shortly before 12:30 p.m. when the fire started.
Three adults and four children who were at the home when the fire broke out made it out safely.
Investigators said there were no operating smoke detectors in the home.
The local chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire. Two other adults also lived at the home, authorities said.
