Best-selling author Nicholas Sparks is hosting his first Celebrity Family Weekend, complete with a preview of the film adaptation of his book "The Lucky One," next month in his hometown of New Bern.
The weekend, which is planned April 20-22, will offer visitors a chance to meet celebrity athletes, artists, authors and musicians. A film festival featuring adaptations of Sparks' books is planned throughout the weekend at the historic Athen’s Theatre in New Bern.
Proceeds from the weekend will benefit Hope for the Warrior, Paws with a Cause and global education initiatives for youth.
Tickets are available for individual events.
The most expensive ticket is a brunch at Sparks' home on April 22, which will cost you $1,250 per person. For the die-hard Sparks' fan without that kind of money, a luncheon where you can mingle with Sparks is being held April 20 and costs $250 per person. It will feature an auction including autographed memorabilia from Sparks' films.
Family Fun Night (April 20) - Enjoy magicians, arts and crafts, bounce houses and mingle with celeb guests. $35 per ticket
Golf with celebs (April 21) - $1,500 per person or $6,000 for a foursome. Tickets just to view the action are $25.
5K & 1 mile Fun Run (April 22) - If you register before Saturday, it is $30 for the 5K timed run/walk and $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Early registration guarantees you a t-shirt in your size. After Saturday, the registration goes up $10.
So, what is your favorite Sparks' book or film? Remember: "The Notebook" gave us the greatness of Ryan Gosling.
