<p>Meteorologist Peter Sherwood in the severe weather center, we have a cold front that's on the move. This is a strong cold front with a history of producing tornadoes and damaging winds. It is on the move and will arrive into our region today. We have a level two severe risk in place for our south and eastern counties. That's where we're likely to see the greatest potential for damaging wind speeds and an isolated tornado. We are going to get the heavy rain out of the system up to 2.5 inches of rainfall will be possible from this peeling back the layers and looking at that tornado risk, you can see the greatest potential for our south and eastern counties. The storm energy is there a lot of energy will be in place after afternoon going into 6 p.m. after six pm. Notice how that storm energy dies down considerably. We are going to see this front move to the east and likely to see just rain as we head into tonight. So likely to get those showers and thunderstorms to develop for our eastern counties around noon. That's going to move into the triangle throughout the afternoon, some of those storms could be strong to severe. And then as it moves to the south and east for this afternoon, we could see some of those turn strong to severe as well as bringing some damaging wind speeds and heavy rainfall. After that is just going to be all rain overnight and that rain will gradually clear out by tomorrow morning. A lot of sunshine will build in for Monday with cooler temperatures. It's a day to hang out inside, maybe to watch a movie or to make some cookies. Temperatures are going to be warm as we head into the upper. But with all that rain, with all the thunderstorms that are likely for today, it is going to be one of those days where you'll appreciate being indoors 69 for the high today, tomorrow, cooler into the 50 some spots will be stuck in the forties and then we'll head to 49 degrees as we head into Thursday. The week ahead will be cool with morning temperatures down into the twenties.</p>
