Man allegedly bit officer during arrest in Walmart parking lot

WCNC Charlotte reports a man is accused of biting an officer while the officer was arresting him for allegedly stealing groceries from a west Charlotte Walmart on July 12. 

Police officers approached Victor Roberts, 53, after he had allegedly taken food, beer and other merchandise from Walmart to his car. Officers told Roberts to exit his vehicle and, when Roberts refused, they pulled him out of the car. 

Roberts allegedly attempted to reach for officer J. Lewis' gun, threatened to shoot him and bit his left hand and arm. 

Roberts was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault on a police officer and misdemeanor theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
