A man has been arrested after an officer-involved shooting in Duplin County.
Officials said a sheriff’s deputy was called to reports of loud music just before 5 a.m. on Sunday on White Flash Road near Mount Olive.

When the deputy arrived, officials said he saw Juan Perez, who had a gun.
Officials said Perez walked towards the deputy while still holding the gun and did not stop when the deputy asked. Officials also said Perez pointed the gun at the deputy while still walking towards him.
Perez was shot by the deputy after he pointed his gun at him, officials said. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Officials said Perez is now charged with assault against a government official/law enforcement officer.
Officials said the State Bureau of Investigation and the Office of District Attorney Ernie Lee are investigating the shooting.
