Couple finds cannonball in North Myrtle Beach

WMBF reports a couple in the North Strand found a cannonball while using their metal detector.

The North Myrtle Beach Police Department said the ball was found around 48th Avenue South.

Police believe the cannonball was brought to shore during the dredging process.

The Horry County Police Department assisted with removing the cannonball.
