A Cary man was arrested at Charlotte Douglas International Airport this weekend after an investigation into a scam out of Jones County, according to the State Bureau of Investigation.

Christopher Aaron Murray, 27, is accused of targeting a Jones County family by contacting victims to claim their bank accounts were compromised and demanding payment to resolve the issue.

Murray was arrested Sunday at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and charged with felony conspiracy, obtaining property by false pretenses, exploitation of a disabled or elderly person in a position of trust, and impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Murray bonded out of the Mecklenburg County Detention Center after posting his $7,500 secured bond early Monday morning. He is expected in Jones County court on May 15.
