Nominee to Lead Veterans Affairs Comes Under Fire

FILE-- President Donald Trump with Dr. Ronny Jackson, a rear admiral in the Navy and then White House physician, in the White House in Washington, Aug. 3, 2017. The Senate Veterans Affairs Committee is examining allegations that Jackson, now in 2018 Trump’s nominee to lead the Veterans Affairs Department, oversaw a hostile work environment as the White House physician and allowed the overprescribing of drugs, according to congressional officials briefed on the committee’s work. They have also received claims that Jackson drank too much on the job. (Tom Brenner/The new York Times)
