Roy Williams met with the media for the first time since last Saturday, when video of his players partying maskless with other students emerged online. He addressed that directly on Friday ahead of Saturday's matchup with Virginia and said the players would be disciplined internally.
trying to think I can't ever remember. Uh, anything that frustrated me like this. I've never had a game postponed like that. So it was, uh, not my favorite moment. I could tell you. That's from, uh, midnight Saturday night when I stopped thinking about our game against Duke and started focusing on Miami from that time until the last 24th hours or so was something I did not enjoy. Did not like, Don't ever wait it want to go through it again. But, uh, you got to move on, and that's what we're trying to do is move on. Put it behind us. Ross Martin? Yeah, Coach. I kinda wanna build on that. You said they were gonna pay a very significant price. What was the conditioning like this week for some of the players? Is there anything you tell us about what they went through? No, because it's, uh we said we would handle it internally, and that's what we've done. Uh, it came out. Uh, this will be the only statement. So if everyone of you know, I'm singing 15 faces up there, if you wanna ask another question about what happened this weekend, just forget it because I'm not answering anything after this. But it was not at a fraternity house. It was not on Franklin Street. It was within our group of players and managers and a few very few other people got involved. And, uh, it's something. And I don't think Jeff LeBeau would mind me saying this. I told Jeff LeBeau that our team did the same thing he did 100 times, but there was nobody putting it on video. I was upset about it. I'm still upset about it, but let's not make it out like we charged the Capitol building or anything like that. That's not what it was. It was not a freestanding party at some fraternity house or in the middle of Franklin Street, and, uh, I've handled it. What I think is very appropriately. And like I say, if anybody wants to talk about anything else, uh, regarding that, then just say so. And we'll all go eat a sausage biscuit or something like that because we've made enough statements. And, uh, I didn't like some of the things that happened to say the least, but also didn't like some of the things that what our kids were portrayed as
