I'm meteorologist, Amy Wilmoth in the WRL severe weather center. We have some pretty nice weather as we wrap up the weekend. It's going to be gray today but only a 20% chance for rain. So a drier finish to the weekend compared to what we went through yesterday with numerous showers and storms. The cold front that brought us the rain is now moving offshore. Just a slim chance for showers today. It's about a 20% chance and then we don't expect any rain Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. But notice how rain chances go up by the end of the week. A 20% chance Thursday, a 30% chance Friday and then a 40% chance for scattered showers and storms on Saturday. So Memorial Day weekend, we could be dodging some showers and storms, keep checking back in and we'll have a better idea of the timeline for rain and storms over the holiday weekend. Probably around the middle of the week or so today. We'll have mainly cloudy skies. A high of 74 in Raleigh and Durham and Fayetteville, 74 in Clinton, 73 for the high temperature in Rocky Mount. So pretty comfortable temperatures today, dinner outside around seven o'clock, probably a good thing. It's only gonna be a 20% chance for rain at that point with temperatures in the low seventies. So it will certainly feel very comfortable overnight. Tonight, we are going to have the potential for some areas of fog to develop. Temperatures will get down into the middle to upper fifties. So a little bit of a foggy start on Monday morning. But then sunshine in the afternoon, temperatures will warm Monday afternoon up to around 79 for the high and then low eighties. Tuesday will get up to 87 Wednesday and 90 for the high by Thursday. So definitely getting hotter as we get into the second half of the week, which is pretty normal this time of year, especially leading up to the Memorial Day weekend, morning, lows will be mild as well pretty near normal for the next few mornings. But then mid to upper sixties for lows by Thursday and Friday, I mentioned the chance for some rain over the holiday weekend might have an isolated shower Thursday, but then scattered showers will be possible on Friday. Maybe an isolated storm Saturday into Sunday. We have the potential for a couple of showers and storms as well. It's not going to rain all weekend, but we certainly have that chance for rain again. Keep checking back in and we'll have a better idea of the timeline as we get a little bit closer to it. Things are going to stay quiet for the next several days. But the big story this week will be the heat getting up to around 90 by Thursday and then storms return as we head into Friday.
