Franklin sheriff announces arrest in drive-by that killed a woman

Two men are charged with murder after a deadly drive-by shooting in Youngsville.

Franklin County Sheriff Kevin White announced the arrests on Facebook.

"I am pleased to announce that closure and justice will soon be brought to the family," he wrote. "The actions of our team this morning will never replace the beautiful life of Ms. Bernice Pender, but it will make our North Carolina streets just a little bit safer."

Jaquan Lynch and Donavan Boyd were taken into custody Friday morning.

Bullets were fired into Pender's home on Bert Winston Road in Youngsville on April 1. She was found inside, dead.

White did not say what connection, if any, there was between Pender and the suspects or share a motive for the shooting.
