Mother and child hit in Walmart parking lot

A mother and her infant child were hit in the parking lot of a Raleigh Walmart Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the Walmart at New Bern Avenue and New Hope Road in east Raleigh just before noon.

According to police, the pair had serious, but not life-threatening, injuries when they were taken to a local hospital. WakeMed trauma center is just blocks away.
