Woman charged after 11-month-old child overdoses on fentanyl, cocaine

A woman was taken into custody after authorities said her child overdosed on fentanyl in Harnett County.

According to court documents, 28-year-old Alyssa Washington intentionally left a straw containing fentanyl and cocaine in reach of her 11-month-old baby.

The baby then overdosed and lost consciousness.

Washington was arrested on Thursday, April 10, and charged with felony child abuse. She is currently in the Harnett County Detention Center under a $60,000 bond.
