Court documents: Bolivia woman broke into man's house, assaulted him with weed killer

A 76-year-old woman was arrested on Friday after authorities say she broke into a Columbus County man's home and assaulted him.

According to court documents, Wanda Avery of Bolivia, North Carolina, broke into the home of a man in a wheelchair who had a disability on Friday on Renee Lane in Chadbourn. Deputies said Avery broke into the home with "the intent to commit a felony."

Columbus County deputies said Avery then assaulted the man with a stool, shattered glass and Round Up Weed Killer. Deputies arrested Avery and charged her with first-degree felony burglary and felony assault of an individual with a disability.

Avery is in the Columbus County Detention Center under no bond and is expected to appear in court on March 12.
