The principal of a Wake County middle school recently informed parents about a pornographic video shared among its students this week.
Carroll Magnet Middle School families received the letter Wednesday afternoon, in which the school stated the footage resulted from an off-campus incident.

“We were made aware that some students received a pornographic video on their cell phones,” the statement read. “I regret that our students were involved in the incident and were exposed to this inappropriate content on social media.”
The Raleigh Police Department confirmed they were called in around noon on Tuesday to investigate. As a result, several phones containing the images were taken as evidence.
A mom of a Carroll Magnet Middle School student said her child was one of the students exposed to the video.
“All I want is just answers as to what Wake County is doing in order to not just protect my child but other children,” she said.
The mother spoke with WRAL News on the condition of anonymity. She says the video featured two students. Raleigh police did not confirm who was involved in the video.
“It’s still a form of violence to me,” the mother said. “It’s still a crime and crimes have consequences, we learn that now as kids.”
WRAL News contacted the Wake County Public School System about the incident and any steps the school system is taking to ensure students’ safety.
As of late Wednesday evening, WRAL News did not receive a response.
In the letter to parents, Carroll Magnet Middle School encouraged families to monitor their child’s cellphone activity to “moderate their choices and limit exposure to inappropriate content and interactions.”
