A tractor-trailer caught fire early Tuesday, shutting down lanes on the Triangle Expressway toll road (N.C. 540) in Wake County.
The crash was reported around 1:45 a.m. near Exit 39 for N.C. 50 (Benson Road). At 7 a.m., two westbound lanes remained closed.

According to the State Highway Patrol, the 18-wheeler's tire popped and led to the fire.
No one was injured.
The truck was hauling frozen turkeys, officials said.
