Interstate 40 has reopened after a crash involving a tractor-trailer blocked the eastbound lanes near the Southpoint exit in Durham.

The crash was reported before 1:45 a.m. at Exit 276 for Fayetteville Road when a Harris Teeter 18-wheeler overturned in the median, blocking two eastbound lanes. The westbound lanes were unaffected.

All lanes reopened by 7 a.m.

There was not a large impact to traffic before 6 a.m., but at 6:45 a.m. cars were moving slowly around the crash. Sky 5 flew overhead showing the delays stretching back to N.C. 54.
