Fire burns 90 acres of Sampson County forest

Eight fire departments and the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources responded to a large forest fire off of North Carolina Highway 411 in Sampson County on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

GARLAND, N.C. — Eight fire departments and the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources responded to a large forest fire off of North Carolina Highway 411 in Sampson County on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Authorities said three structures were in danger but not damaged. No one was injured. 

About 90 acres of land burned. 

State forest officials used a plow and three planes to help put out the blaze. 

It is unclear what caused the fire.
