From Johnny in Wake Forest

Thanks, Greg, for being a wonderful scientist and a person with a servant's heart.

I was a grad student back in the early 90s studying coastal engineering at NCSU. I had to coordinate an on-the-ground field survey of shoreline positions at Oregon Inlet with concurrent aerial photography being done by DOT (which was highly dependent on weather to be completed).

This was before the days of instant Internet weather forecasts, so I called the weatherline and left a message asking about weather later in the week. Imagine my surprise when Greg Fishel called back personally and gave me my own detailed forecast and asked about our research. I bet he talked with me for 10-15 min. Definitely left an impression.

Thanks, Greg, for being a wonderful scientist and a person with a servant's heart who knows that one of the main purposes of being here is to serve others.
