Triangle figure skaters place at nationals

The 2011 Figure Skating Championships got underway at the Greensboro Coliseum this weekend, and three Triangle teens competed in the sport's top competition Sunday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The 2011 Figure Skating Championships got underway at the Greensboro Coliseum this weekend, and three Triangle teens competed in the sport's top competition Sunday.

Ana Draovitch, 14, of Cary, placed 5th in the novice ladies category.

Triangle teens Miles Addison and Kay Bergdolt placed 8th in the novice pairs division.

Addison attends Enloe High School in Raleigh and Bergdolt goes to Cary Academy. They've been skating together for five years.

The opening ceremonies of the championships are being held Wednesday, but the competition began Saturday.
