FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Over 200 paratroopers stationed at Fort Bragg were greeted by family, friends and their wounded comrades Saturday morning as they landed on U.S. soil after a 12-month deployment in Afghanistan.

They were scheduled to land around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, but were delayed due to inclement weather.

The paratroopers touched ground shortly before 6 a.m.

The unit, from the 82nd Airborne Division's 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, 18th Fires Brigade, deployed in January 2010. They provided artillery support at fire bases in an eastern region of Afghanistan.

Some members of the unit helped train about 30 soldiers in the Afghan National Army.
